NatWest Venus Awards Portsmouth 2014 announces Semi Finalists

Its all very exciting and we had a great night on Monday and below is a summary:

Following over 1000 nominations and applications, the Portsmouth Venus Awards in association with Peter Cooper Group VW recently announced the semi-finalists for its Sponsor judged categories at the Peter Cooper Portsmouth Showroom.  They will all be invited to an afternoon tea at the Langstone Hotel where the finalists willl be announced.   The winners will then be call out at the Grand award ceremony at the Marriott Portsmouth on the 1st October.

The awards were founded by Tara Howard, then Managing Director of Langtry Manor Hotel in Bournemouth.  Tara was asked her reasons for starting the awards…“Being a mother of four at the same time as running a successful business, I know only too well the pressures that women in business can be under.   We often undervalue ourselves and our achievements.   I wanted to create a system where women can be recognized for their achievements through nominations from their colleagues, friends and family.   Thereby not having to make the first step themselves!  It inspires me to experience the excitement, pride and sense of achievement of the women as they make it through the various stages of the awards.”

Following requests from women all over the country to be part of the awards, Tara is committed to bringing the Venus Awards to more regions and is now open in 8 locations across the country with many more on her radar.

Below are listed the semi-finalists for Portsmouth2014.   The remaining categories including the Town and Country Business Mother of the Year, the Heart Employee of the Year and the Cascades Shopping Centre Customer Service of the Year Award will be going to the public vote on 3rd July, where you, the reader will have an opportunity to decide who in each of those categories will attend the “Working Women Oscars”
