Venus Awards

Recognising Local Business Women

Dorset NatWest Venus Awards have launched!

Green House Hotel in Bournemouth – the perfect venue for the launch of the Dorset NatWest Venus Awards in association with Breeze Volkswagen. On Thursday the 16th of January 2014 we started our fifth year of these amazing awards in Dorset. Dorset is a special place for us because it is where it all began.

A special night like this needs a special framework. And this we definitely had! We had the most important and influential people in Dorset attending.  We had a very special guest – The Mayor of Bournemouth Rod Cooper and his wife Elaine Cooper, to show their support for the Business Women of Dorset. Katie Francesca and her wonderful voice rounded off this special event. Tara Howard, the founder of the Venus Awards, led perfectly through the evening. She opened by talking about the Awards and how it all began. Started in one region it’s now spread into nine! Tara also introduced the following three new categories: Customer Service Award, Young Entrepreneur/Manager and Influential Woman of the Year. Mayor Rod Cooper and some of the sponsors talked about the Awards in general and about their intentions to support. A special speaker was the Venus Ambassador Sam Acton, who won the Home Based Business Award last year, in both the regional finals and the National Final. In the nice ambiance of the Green House Hotel it was very easy to think about all the amazing Business Women who deserve to win an Award. We really enjoyed this special night at the home of the Venus Awards! Thanks for all, who made this event so unforgettable!
