Recognising Local Business Women
For many people it is absolutely not sure that you leave your way to help others. But there are a couple of people for whom it is. Therefore there is an extra category called “Inspirational Woman of the Year”.
The sponsor of this category is Roedean School, an independent day and boarding school in Sussex for girls aged 11-18. Roedean aims to provide a stimulating education and exciting extra-curricular opportunities in an environment which is supportive and friendly. The pupils are encouraged to be self-reliant, explore their talents and strive for excellence. That is why caring and committed staff ensure that the pupils make informed decisions, lead as well as be part of a team, appreciate cultural diversity, but also are fair and honest as well as respectful and pardoning.
Rebecca Jenner is one of the founding directors of extratime. Becky has a background in Retail Management and a BA Hons in Business Studies. She is Mum to Rosie, who has Rett Syndrome, and when she realised there was not any childcare or play opportunities where her daughter and her sons could all go together and she could return to work, she decided to explore the possibility of starting one. After meeting Marian, the idea for an after school club became a reality. Becky has since completed a Diploma Level 5 in Managing Children and Young People’s Services.
